New Sweater Dress

I made a new sweater dress. I added some little green buttons for flair. You can’t quite see it but I’ve also added a woven label on inside that reads “recovergirl”. I’m going to make about a half dozen more and sell them (hopefully) through the Odd Showroom in downtown Portsmouth. [...]

Oops I did it again.

There was something about that mid length cut that was too safe for me. I am now back to a longish pixie. Phew. I feel more myself again.

Area Beaches

Tuesday the boys and I went to the beach at Newcastle Commons.
On Wednesday we went to Rye Beach. It was completely overcast — in fact, much of the time it was raining. I went with two families from my neighborhood. The kids lead us into these rocks where they hunted [...]

Eliot Boat Launch

Once again my neighbor Brenda had a great suggestion for how to entertain our kids. We went to the Eliot boat launch. We walked along the beach and found this wall of sand. The kids challenged themselves to climb up. It was not easy for them. It was sort of [...]

Not So Dangerous Boy

Have you heard about the new book – The Dangerous Book for Boys? I’m sure I’ll get it out from the library when I see it there. Yesterday I got a book out of from the library on how to play the cats in the cradle string game. I’ve got to [...]

More Alex

Sometimes I think I should change the name of my blog to “see how cute my boys are”  I just can’t help myself. I love to take pictures of them. We went to Odiorne Point today. It was beautiful.

Seacoast Sartorialist

I’m such a fan of the sartorialist. I’ve started to think it would be fun to have my own blog of fashionable seacoasters. I’m going to start to collect photos and see if I have enough to sustain another blog. Here is my first shot. I think it came out great.

Toilet Paper Design

The boys and I went to Prescott Park today. It is gorgeous out. The flowers are blooming. There were sailboats passing by — and yet I was most inspired to take a picture of these rolls of toilet paper in the ladies room. I’d like to do this at home. [...]

Last Day of School

Today was Doug’s last day in kindergarten. Wow. That went by fast. I got to his class a few minutes early. Ashley, a little girl in Doug’s class, had a bag full of handmade cards she wanted to hand out to all her classmates. She took one out at [...]

Walk into Town

I pushed the boys in a stroller into town so they could have a kiddie cone. Alex had chocolate — can you tell?
Then we walked over to the coffee shop so that I could get a cup of coffee. We sat outside and watched the people walk by. [...]
