I am a few days late reading the Sunday New York Times. In the magazine was a photo essay called “The Coats (and Dresses and Shirts) of Utopia”. One of the designers included in the spread was Rogues Gallery of Portland, ME. It sounds like they are a wildly successful little company that sells redesigned recycled men’s t-shirts. Below is a portion of an interview from the Portland Press Herald with the guy who started Rogues Gallery, Alex Carleton.
I love learning about a successful sustainable design company. It is even more exciting that they are a local company. I read somewhere that they plan to open a retail store in Portland in February 2008. I’ll have to check it out.

If the store is anything like their sample sales at the Space gallery, it should be a success in Portland.
