zipsiclesThis is genius.  Make your own freeze pops with ziploc bags. I’d love to make some using fresh fruit and yogurt with my boys this summer. Apparently, the bags were invited by a 12 year old boy.  Here is some information I found on a news site:

“A local boy and his mother discovered a few years ago that he was allergic to food that contained strong food dyes, like many frozen treats. That inspired him and his family to come up with his own type of homemade frozen ice pops, so they created Zipzicles. They’re zip-top, ice-pop bags that allow you to fill them with any type of items you’d love to enjoy.”

Now I’m just curious if the bag is recyclable or degradable.

UPDATE: I just found this information below on the Zipsicles FAQ page.

Are your Zipzicle bags BPA-free? Are they recyclable?

Yes, Zipzicle™ ice-pop bags are 100% virgin plastic and contain no plastizers. Specifically, they are made of FDA approved Food Grade LDPE (low density polyethylene) and LLDPE (linear low density polyethylene), that is 3 Mil Thick. This type of plastic is BPA-free. Zipzicle™ bags are also recyclable. They fall under the #4 recyclable category.
