Join us for the 7th Annual Clothing Swap at the Portsmouth Public Library on Saturday, April 30th from 10am to 2pm. Swapping is easy. Bring a bag of gently used items, such as shirts, shoes, jewelery, and pants, drop them off and swap. Leave with a bag of new-to-you items. The remainder of items will be donated to Goodwill Industries of Northern New England. Please remember that this is a donation drive. Give more than you take!
You already know this stuff but watch and share this video anyway. It is a good (and entertaining) reminder of what not to do (buy fast fashion), plus some other tips — like how you should wash your clothes less frequently. I’m always
yelling at nicely asking my boys to stop throwing their clothes in the dirty pile too soon.
Oh and BTW — SAVE THE DATE – the Annual Clothing Swap is schedule for Saturday, April 30th. More details very soon.
For the last few years, My friend Kirsten and I have been making little videos to help promote the swap. We are self-taught hacks (obvi), but we love the creative challenge of creating a video. This year’s video was directly inspired by Daria Werbowy for Equipment Spring 2015. Hope y’all like it.
Below is a link to the Facebook event page for the swap. Join the event and invite your friends! The swap is a super fun community event and a great opportunity to find a fabulous addition to your wardrobe, but please remember this is a clothes drive for Goodwill. #GiveMoreThanYouGet
Speaking of hashtags — There is one more week until the Swap. Why not share what you are bringing to the swap on social media with the hashtag #PortSwap. Then after the swap share what you got at the swap. I know, right. #sofun
6th Annual Women’s (and Men’s!) Clothing Swap
Saturday, May 2nd, 2015
Portsmouth Public Library
Portsmouth, NH 03801
I founded the swap in 2009 but since then I’ve switched to working part-time. I am no longer the person that actually organizes the swap. I am more like a retired chairman on the board. The swap is now run by the uber-talented Stacia Oparowski and the promotion is handled by Laura Horwood-Benton.
Hope to see you at the Swap! xo jam
