Purl Soho’s Gathered Skirt for All Ages

I stumbled upon this skirt on Pinterest. I love the minimal design. I’d like to try to make a couple of these for myself for spring, one in black linen and one in an olive green. I would make mine a tiny bit longer.

They would look great with a simple knotted t-shirt, a cross body bag, and these fabulous Teva leather sandals. A perfect outfit to wear for a bicycle ride into town. Ching Ching

My sweater blanket was featured in the October issue of All You magazine.  I like the fine print at the bottom of the page — “This idea comes from Jennifer Moore in Kittery, Maine, who blogs about sustainable style at recovergirl.wordpress.com.”  That’s better than a stick in your eye.  xo jam

I am planning on creating a photo booth backdrop for the 4th Annual Women’s Clothing Swap.  I’ve tried to capture pictures of swappers myself in the past but I always get too busy.  It’s like trying to take pictures at your own wedding.  This year I want to create a backdrop and invite swappers to take pictures of themselves and share them on Facebook and Twitter (with the hash-tag #portswap).  I saw this picture above over on  Dolci Odille and it got me to thinking about post-it notes.  What if I buy an assortment of colored post it notes, chop them into triangles and arrange them into this pretty pattern onto sheets of kraft paper?  It just might work.
