There are 20+ inches of snow on the ground. Seems like a good day to share what I’m daydreaming about wearing for Spring/Summer 2018.
First of all, for whatever reason, I’m into white painter pants. I’m not sure how this crept into my consciousness but I like it. I think it has to do with the themes I’ve stressed lately around work. I want/need clothes that do not impede my movement. These pants are literally designed to work in.
I bought the pair below from Etsy. I am six inches shorter than the model in those photos so these pants will be ankle length on me. I’ll wear them with my Clarks desert boots and a soft vintage t-shirt.
The next thing I’m obsessed with for Spring is another rugged classic — an oversized jean jacket. I love the authentic simplicity.
Now onto footwear. Haters are gonna hate but I will never stop loving Tevas. I love the Originals but I’m also curious about the new Terra-Float and the Ember Moc.
Linen always plays a role in my warm weather wardrobe. I think I’m ready to invest in a linen jumpsuit or a two-piece as worn in the Instagram video below. It would look great with an oversized jean jacket cape, stone leather Teva sandals, and turtleneck hair. Don’t you think?
Before I move onto workwear I must share my dream bathing suit — The Beklina Tie Swimsuit. I love the sophisticated minimalist design and I also love that it means I don’t need to shave my bikini line. And since we are on the subject of shaving, I must tell you that I am friends with several women who are decades younger than I am and they are not shaving their legs or their armpits. I’m not there yet but I’m not far behind either.
That covers the general idea of what I’ll wear on days off. Now onto what I’d wear to work.
I continue to be obsessed with the pantsuit. The Frankie Shop has just what I’m jonesing after. I always abide by the hashtag #secondandfirst but this year I may splurge on a new suit to celebrate me turning 50! Happy Birthday to me!
Side note: I’m intrigued by the ugly sneaker trend (Marianne Theodorsen does it best!) but I think I’ll stick with my classic New Balance sneakers that I’ve had for years.
I can see that the slow fashion trend has really taken hold of me. My style isn’t changing much. I’m wearing things longer and I generally wait out trends and stick with classics.
